alt text

Alt text provides a text alternative to visual items. It is not only an important part of accessibility, but is also important part of search engine optimization (SEO) and important part of HTML coding.

The alt attribute describes the image shown. If the image does not render properly or at all, the alt text is shown instead.

Search engines also use the alt text to index content.

Most importantly, alt text is used by those who use screen readers or text-based browsers for accessibility to have a full experience of the content.
